Navajo Reservation ... North Arizona - Utah
With the Bennion Center of the University of Utah, we got the opportunity to go to a Navajo Reservation.... to help but also to learn. They called the program "Connecting People"
It was a really nice experience. I learnt a lot about Navajo people.
We are used to read things about Navajo reservation ... and some are indeed true whereas some are completly false.
We were 1o students and one organizer. The trip was very long, we had almost 10 hours of driving !! Hopefully we stopped from time to time....
The work was not difficult.... we had to clean the house, taking dead woods from a Hoga (Navajo traditional house), collecting the trash in and around the property (it was fun ... the property was big so we got to ride a four wheels bike) and last we got the opportunity to clean the horses field ... I can tell you that it did not smell as bad as when we first start !
Hopefully we also got the opportunity to wander around the reservation and explore it. The hiking was really relaxing but also very tiring ... no trail to help us.... it was pure nature. Take a loook at the pictures and you will see !
